Riding our TandemEZ is very EZ even for someone who has never ridden Tandem before. With a traditional Tandem the pair of riders need to learn to synch their pedaling and cadence meaning that if the Captain wants to ride faster the stoker must oblige. The crank systems are synched by a timing chain.

With the TandemEZ, however, each crank is independent and can freewheel. This means starting out on a ride one can have their pedals anywhere they like. It also means each rider, Captain and Stoker can pedal and contribute when and at what pace they like.
